Hong-Joo Lee is the current CEO of Spark Bio, where he leads initiatives in real estate development and the planning of bio-laboratory content. Leveraging extensive international experience and deep expertise in finance, real estate, and alternative investments, he drives innovative projects that set new industry standards. He currently operates MediOpen Lab, the nation’s largest private shared bio-laboratory.
Previously, while overseeing real estate development and capital markets at City Storage Systems, he successfully acquired and developed 27 income-generating properties within 26 months. He also secured the largest employment subsidy in the country for foreign investment attraction on behalf of Seoul City and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy.
At both Macquarie Investment Trust and Korea Investment Trust, Lee managed alternative investments and global asset allocation strategies, overseeing funds totaling over KRW 4 trillion. His diverse career spans global business strategy, asset management, investment attraction, and government collaboration projects—and in 2020, he was honored with the Presidential Order of Industrial Service Merit for his achievements in attracting foreign investments.
