Lorenzo Kim

Lorenzo Kim is a co-founder and venture partner at SparkBioLab. He is also the co-founder and Managing Partner at Orbit Investment Partners, a private equity firm responsible for executing SparkLabs Group’s follow-on investments and global private equity strategies. In his role as a venture partner at SparkLabs, he actively participates in the management of the bio-portfolio companies in which the group is involved.
Before joining SparkLabs Group, Lorenzo founded Ignite Innovator, playing a key role in introducing startup acceleration specialized in biotechnology to the domestic market. During his four-year leadership there, four out of fourteen portfolio companies achieved successful IPOs.

Drawing on over 20 years of experience in private equity investments and investment banking across international markets such as Korea, Japan, the United States, and Singapore—and leveraging his technical expertise in the life sciences—he has been instrumental in shaping SparkBioLab’s strategic direction. Lorenzo earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Yonsei University, with minors in Information Industrial Engineering and Accounting.

Prior to joining SparkLabs Group, he founded Ignite Innovator, contributing to the introduction of bio-specific startup acceleration to the domestic market. During his four years as the manager, he led the successful IPO of four out of 14 portfolio companies.

Based on his unique career of 20 years of private equity investment and investment banking in international financial markets such as Korea, Japan, the United States, and Singapore, with his technical expertise in life sciences and investment finance, he contributed to the strategic establishment of SparkBioLab.

Lorenzo Kim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from Yonsei University with minors in Information and Industrial Engineering and Accounting.
